New Poll: McCaskill and Hawley Tied in MO-Sen. Race

Attorney General Josh Hawley (R-MO), running a strong race against Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) in Missouri, is now tied with McCaskill in the U.S. Senate contest, according to a new poll from NBC News and Marist.

CNBC reported:

In a separate question asking likely voters to decide between only McCaskill and Hawley, the candidates tie at 47 percent. Hawley, the state attorney general, has a 1 percentage point advantage among registered voters in a head-to-head matchup.

NBC News and Marist also found that McCaskill’s favorability is underwater among Missouri voters.

Voters’ views of McCaskill could pose a challenge for the incumbent. Forty-one percent of likely voters say they have a favorable impression of her, versus 49 percent who say they have an unfavorable one, according to the survey.

The poll did find McCaskill up “when third party candidates are included,” but her lead there is within the margin of error.
