New Poll Shows Rick Scott & Bill Nelson Virtually Tied (Again)

Yet another poll has shown Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) virtually tied in the Florida Senate race. The University of North Florida poll shows Nelson with 47 percent support, while Scott earns 46 percent.

Another seven percent of voter said they were still undecided. The poll’s margin of error is three percentage points.

This marks the seventh poll to show Nelson and Scott within the margin of error in the past eight public polls conducted in the Sunshine State.

Interesting, Scott has consolidated more support among his own party than Nelson has, according to the poll’s findings:

If anything, the poll finds more partisan loyalty for Scott, Florida’s term-limited governor. Among Republicans, 86 percent plan to vote for Scott and 10 percent go to Nelson, with another 5 percent unsure.

As far as Democrats, just 81 percent say they support Nelson, with 9 percent in Scott’s camp while 7 percent still do not know.

While Democrats are not as enthused about Nelson, he could benefit from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum being on the ticket.
