Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) released a new ad this week that features Florida voters speaking direct-to-camera about Sen. Bill Nelson’s “party line” voting record.

The ad showcases five different Floridians, each airing their displeasure with how Nelson has voted in Washington, D.C.

“That’s what’s wrong with our broken Congress. Everybody is a party line voter and Bill Nelson is one of those,” an unidentified person says in the ad.

Says another, “I think Nancy Pelosi is a huge influence on the Democratic party and Bill Nelson.”

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Scott’s campaign has already spent $5 million on TV ads since jumping in the race last month. His first ad did not mention Nelson by name, but did focus on term limits and career politicians. Nelson was first elected to public office during the Nixon administration.

Nelson has often sought to present himself as a centrist, but according to the Times, he’s not as moderate as he claims. “Nelson lands somewhere in the middle of bipartisanship scorecards, ranking No. 37 in a 2017 study,” the Times Alex Leary wrote on Tuesday.
