As the Senate prepares for an important hearing on the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, an “investigative journalism” website is scrutinizing Kavanaugh by asking for photos of him attending baseball games.

This, from ProPublica on Monday:

Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh accrued as much as $200,000 in debt buying tickets to Washington Nationals baseball games.

…Figuring out who Kavanaugh brought to games could be relevant to his confirmation.

…We’re not sure what we’ll find. But we do know that people take a lot of pictures at baseball games. Did you see Judge Kavanaugh at a game? Did you attend a game with him? Do you have any photos, and if so, will you send them our way?

It’s worth noting one of ProPublica‘s donors is George Soros‘ Foundation to Promote Open Society.

Unable to find serious issues with Kavanaugh’s rulings, or even his time in the Bush White House, it appears the campaign to dig up dirt on the judge has resorted to seeking iPhone and Android pictures from Nationals Park.

Within minutes, conservatives on Twitter began to mock the campaign.

NTK Network will follow up if someone is able to scrounge their smartphone for a photo of Kavanaugh “wearing blue striped polo shirts” – yes, this was really a hint in ProPublica‘s piece – at Nationals games.
