NYT Reporter: Warren’s 2020 Rollout Has Looked Stilted & Awkward

"I think that with the sort of awkwardness of her rollout shows that the Democrats are still figuring that out."

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman said that Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) 2020 presidential rollout has looked “stilted” and “awkward” during a panel discussion on CNN’s “Inside Politics.”

CNN played a clip of Warren’s recent Instagram live with her husband where she drank a beer.

“People thought this was a little odd and stilted and scripted,” CNN’s Nia-Malika Henderson said about the video.

“What’s ironic about this rollout to me watching Warren and it has looked stilted…,” Haberman said.

Haberman then pointed out how many of Warren’s supporters did not think the senator handled her DNA test well.

“She in 2016 was actually the person who was at the forefront of taking on Trump in a way that seemed sort of effective,” Haberman added.

“I think that appealed to a lot of people and there’s a bit of a chasm between that and then what we’ve seen here. A lot of this race for Democrats is going to be about not just who can take the fight to Trump but how you take the fight to Trump,” Haberman said. “I think that with the sort of awkwardness of her rollout shows that the Democrats are still figuring that out.”
