Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) admitted that the Green New Deal, which she co-authored with Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), would probably not pass Congress during an interview with Yahoo News’ “Skullduggery” podcast on Sunday.

The host of “Skullduggery” asked Ocasio-Cortez how she planned on moving the electorate and her colleagues to support the Green New Deal.

“Looking at the pieces on the field, you have a Democratic Caucus that is very focused on preserving and expanding a majority in the House. Then we have a Republican Caucus in the House that is just very motivated to obstruct and make peoples’ lives difficult in every way,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “So, I feel like a lot of what we can produce on, I think that job creation, infrastructure, and green energy is a huge aspect. There is a huge amount we accomplish even given those limitations, which is why I introduced the Green New Deal.”

“Now, is the scope ambitious? Absolutely. Will we get a vote or even a pass on it? Probably not,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
