Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) got rather testy with a local reporter during a press conference Thursday on the impacts on the Minesota economy of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) cancelation.

People who had been impacted by the DED cancelation joined Omar at the press conference, and a few of them shared their personal stories with reporters.

Once this had concluded, Omar opened the floor for questions from reporters.

“Congressman Omar, I know we’re here to talk about this, but we have such rare access to talk to you here in this community–” the reporter began to ask Omar.

“I’d rather you respect that we’re here to actually talk about this,” Omar interjected. “There are people who are very emotional.”

“Absolutely. Would you talk to us after?” the reporter asked.

“Sure, maybe,” Omar responded.

“Can we talk to you afterward?” the reporter pressed.

“I don’t know,” Omar said.

Omar then asked if anybody had any questions about the impacts of DED cancelation.

With no reporters having questions on the matter, Omar ended the press conference. It is unclear if she spoke with the reporter following the press conference as the live stream ended.
