Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) would not apologize for the anti-Semitic tweet she posted over the weekend when asked by reporters on Monday and said she was surprised by the outrage.

On Sunday, Omar tweeted anti-Semitic stereotypes that Jewish money fuels U.S. backing for Israel. These tweets were condemned by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) along with other top Democrats and eventually forced Omar to issue an apology.

A reporter asked Omar whether she regretted her comments.

“I’m pretty sure that was stated in my statement,” Omar replied.

Another reporter asked Omar if she was surprised by the criticism her comments caused.

“Always surprised,” Omar said while entering an elevator.

Another reporter then asked Omar if she was worried about losing committee assignments, as some Republicans have called for.

“Absolutely not,” Omar said.
