Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) said that he didn’t feel that it’s a disadvantage to be a white man from privilege running for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination in 2019 during an interview on CBS’s “This Morning” on Friday.

CBS’s Gayle King asked O’Rourke whether the diverse Democratic primary field made him feel at a disadvantage.

“I don’t feel at a disadvantage, and at the same time, I feel extraordinarily grateful that the Democratic Party has produced so many extraordinary candidates,” O’Rourke said. “Each of whom brings a different set of skills and life experiences and backgrounds. This is a great moment for America. It’s a great moment for the Democratic Party, and I count myself so lucky to be a part of it.”
