Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX), who is still considering a 2020 presidential run, said that he would be in favor of getting rid of all the walls all along America’s southern border with Mexico during an interview on MSNBC on Thursday.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes asked O’Rourke what he thought about Rep. Dan Crenshaw’s (R-TX) question to O’Rourke about removing the wall in El Paso, Texas if he could.

Crenshaw tweeted the following on Monday:

“Yes,” O’Rourke responded.

Hayes followed up by asking O’Rourke if he believed a city referendum to remove the wall would pass in El Paso.

“I do,” O’Rourke said. “Here’s what we know after the Secure Fence Act: we have built 600 miles of wall and fencing on a 2,000-mile border. What that has done is not in any demonstrable way made us safer.”
