Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) would not say whether there was any room within the Democratic Party for candidates who were pro-life during an interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos on Sunday.

Stephanopoulos asked O’Rourke whether there was any room in the Democratic Party for people who opposed abortion.

“Look, I think that’s a question that the candidates, including Vice President Biden, are going to have to answer for themselves,” O’Rourke said.

O’Rourke then went on to discuss the “maternal mortality crisis” in the United States.

“It’s very hard for me to believe that we could ever produce a nominee who would not believe in a woman’s right to choose and the ability to stand and the mandate for us to stand with women in each and every instance,” O’Rourke said.
