At least two prominent Republicans have come out in opposition to President Donald Trump’s assertion that he can revoke birthright citizenship, enshrined in the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, with an executive order.

House Speaker Paul Ryan rejected the idea during an interview with WVLK in Kentucky, per the Washington Post:

“You cannot end birthright citizenship with an executive order,” Ryan said.

Ryan is joined by the most popular governor in the country, Gov. Charlie Baker (R-MA). His office put out a statement Tuesday in response to Trump’s claims:

“Governor Baker strongly disagrees with any plan to change birthright citizenship and he believes the Constitution firmly protects this right,” Baker spokesman Brendan Moss said in a statement.

At least one prominent Republican did support Trump’s assertion, however: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC). He tweeted Tuesday morning and went a step further, stating he would introduce legislation in Congress to back up the proposal:
