Pelosi Confusion: Forgets Sen. Mitch McConnell’s Name

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) forgot the name of Senate Majority Leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine published on Monday.

Rolling Stone’s Tim Dickerson asked Pelosi what the margin of votes she believed she needed to be the next Speaker of House, if Democrats win back control of the chamber following the 2018 midterm elections.

During her answer to Dickerson’s question, the 78-year-old Pelosi seemed to have a mental lapse and forgot the name of the Senate majority leader.

“I think some of it is a little bit on the sexist side – although I wouldn’t normally say that. Except it’s like, really? Has anyone asked whatshisname, the one who’s the head of Senate,” Pelosi said.

Rolling Stone noted that Pelosi’s aide, Jorge Aguilar, had to remind her that Mitch McConnell was the “head of Senate,” which is also not his title.

“McConnell. I mean he’s got the lowest numbers of anybody in the world. Have you ever gone up to him and said, ‘How much longer do you think you’ll stay in this job?’ Nobody ever went up to Harry Reid and said that. Nobody ever says that to anybody except a woman. But it’s a thing,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi has repeatedly referred to President Trump as former President George W. Bush in interviews and at events in the past few years.
