Pelosi Defends Biden: I Don’t Think the Accusations Are Disqualifying

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters on Monday that she didn’t think the allegations of inappropriate touching leveled against former Vice President Joe Biden disqualifies the 76-year-old from becoming president.

Last week, Nevada Democrat Lucy Flores accused Biden in an op-ed of inappropriately kissing her before a political rally in 2014.

Then on Monday, Amy Lappo, who at the time was a congressional aide to Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT), alleged “Biden touched her inappropriately and rubbed noses with her during a 2009 political fundraiser in Greenwich when he was vice president,” according to the Hartford Courant.

Reporters asked Pelosi whether these allegations against Biden “were disqualifying from the presidency,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

“I don’t think that this disqualifies him from being president,” Pelosi told the reporters. “Not at all.”
