Pelosi: Invoking the 25th Amendment to Remove Trump Is a ‘Good Idea’

"That's a good idea, I'm glad you suggested it. I'll take it up with my caucus, not that they haven't been thinking about it."

A reporter asked Pelosi to explain what she meant when she said Trump’s staff should have an intervention with him earlier in her weekly press conference.

Pelosi seemed to be confused by the reporter’s question and asked for clarification.

“Oh, I thought you said statutory intervention. That would be good, Article 25,” Pelosi said laughing, calling the reporter a troublemaker. “That’s a good idea, I’m glad you suggested it. I’ll take it up with my caucus, not that they haven’t been thinking about it.”

Article 25 of the United States Constitution deals with presidential succession and allows the Vice President and the Cabinet to jointly agree that “the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office,” and thereby remove the president from office.
