Pelosi’s Worst Moments on This Week’s Campaign Tour

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is bouncing from district to district around the United States this week in support of Democratic congressional candidates, as Congress is in recess.

But the Democratic leader may be doing more harm than good on the campaign trail. Pelosi has committed a number of flubs and gaffes as she’s trying to help Democrats get elected.

Here are some of her worst:

Admits that Trump Tax Cuts are helping the economy.

Asked by NBC Phoenix’s Brahm Resnik on Wednesday about her description of the GOP tax plan as “armageddon,” Pelosi stood by the descriptor but admitted that the tax cuts are growing the American economy.

“I stand by it enthusiastically. Because, you know what? It’s wonderful for people in the top one percent, and they say that the economy by all indicators is doing well,” Pelosi told Resnik. She then called for a plan that would “grow wages.”

But the Democratic leader’s admission that the economy “is doing well” under the Trump tax plan should let voters know all they need to know about the upcoming election.

Undercuts Elizabeth Warren’s Ancestry Claims.

During a visit to New Mexico on Tuesday, Pelosi voiced support for Democratic congressional candidate Deb Haaland, saying she would be the “first Native American woman” to sit in the United States Congress.

That would be news to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who claims Native American ancestry and may have used the assertion to obtain employment. However, Warren’s claims are dubious, and President Trump has mocked the senator with the moniker “Pocahontas.”

Says voting for Democrats will give ‘courageous’ illegal immigrants ‘leverage.’

While in Texas, Pelosi told a press conference that voting for Democratic candidates would give “leverage” to migrants illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

“We believe that we will have leverage when we win in November,” she said. “And why’s that important? Because it gives leverage to every family, to every mom who courageously brought her child across the desert to escape death, rape, gang violence, and arrest.”

The Democratic leader described her party’s open borders vision as “inevitable,” with only Republicans standing in the way.
