Police: Latest Austin Bomb Attack ‘Similar’ to Previous Attacks

Austin Police Chief Brian Manley announced at a press conference on Monday that law enforcement detected “similarities” between the latest bomb attack in the city and previous explosions.

“Based on the preliminary review that we have done at this time, we have seen similarities in the device that exploded here last night, and the other three devices that have exploded in Austin,” Manley said.

The bombing is the fourth that Austin has experienced since the beginning of March. So far, two people have been killed in the attacks

However, the latest attack included the use of a tripwire, a difference from the previous three, Manley said.
