POLL: Majority of N.H. Voters Say Trump’s Economy is Better or the Same as Obama’s

While investigations, scandals, and media frenzies are the main topics in Washington, D.C., the economy under President Trump is roaring, and voters are recognizing that fact.

A new poll published by NHJournal.com found that 46 percent of voters in the “First in the Nation” primary state said they believe the economy is better today than it was during the eight years that President Obama was in office. Another 29.7 percent said the economy was “about the same” as that era, and just 18.5 percent said things are “worse today.”

That’s great news for Trump – and Americans – as news broke on Monday that the stock market is experiencing the longest bull market in its history.

Here’s more on the New Hampshire poll:

Among Granite State Republicans, more than 84 percent say the economy is better today than in the Obama era. The number among independents, 40 percent, perfectly matches Trump’s approval rating among these unaffiliated voters, too.

And despite the fact that they overwhelmingly disapprove of the job Trump is doing and despite their loyalty to former President Barack Obama, the majority of Democrats say the economy today is doing better or about the same. Only 31 percent of New Hampshire Democrats say the Trump economy is worse than Obama’s.

This could be good news for Republicans in the 2018 midterms, as well. Voters may view Trump, and the Republicans who control the House and Senate, more favorably thanks to the low unemployment rate, rising wages, and a strong stock market.
