Poll: McCaskill is Least Popular Senator Running for Re-Election in ’18

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) has had a bad week, and it’s only Wednesday. Just yesterday, the Kansas City Star published a report indicating that McCaskill’s husband may have profited from federal grants during her tenure, and the Washington Free Beacon revealed that the senator spent $3,000 to have a private plane follow her on her “RV tour.”

Now, a new Morning Consult poll finds that McCaskill is the most unpopular senator running for re-election this year.

According to the results of the survey, 44 percent of Missouri voters disapprove of McCaskill’s job performance, while only 40 percent approve of her work. It’s not a good sign for the Missouri senator, who is in a tough fight with Attorney General Josh Hawley (R-MO).

The recent reports from the Star and the Beacon are not going to help Missouri voters warm up to the Democratic senator either.

Given the week she’s already had, is there anyone in America hoping for the weekend more than McCaskill?
