Poll: Nearly Two-Thirds of WV Voters Want Manchin to Confirm Kavanaugh

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is one of a few swing Democratic votes when it comes to the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. A new poll, though, suggests Manchin’s vote should not be a swing at all.

WV Metro News reported Monday:

Sixty-two percent of likely voters in West Virginia want Manchin to vote to confirm Kavanaugh, according to the latest results from the MetroNews Dominion Post West Virginia Poll.

Thirty-eight percent say no, that Manchin should not vote in favor of Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

The poll means that nearly two in three West Virginia voters want the senator to confirm Kavanaugh, despite a near relentless liberal political assault on the Supreme Court nominee.

Manchin praised Kavanaugh shortly after the judge’s nomination, telling a local radio station that Kavanaugh “has all the right qualities.”
