Poll: Plurality Want Romney to Run for Senate in Utah

A plurality of registered voters want Mitt Romney to run for Senate in Utah.

That’s one result in a new, extensive poll released by Morning Consult and Politico, which found that 40 percent of registered voters said Romney should run and only 25 percent said Romney should not run.

Demographics that are particularly enthused about a Romney run include:

  • Republicans (49 percent say run, 24 percent say don’t run)
  • Conservatives (46 percent say run, 25 percent say don’t run)
  • Christians (44 percent say run, 24 percent say don’t run)
  • People who voted for Donald Trump (45 percent say run, 26 percent say don’t run)
  • And, unsurprisingly, people who voted for Romney in 2012 (54 percent say run, 22 percent say don’t run)

Romney has been mum on a run since Hatch announced his retirement, but recently changed his Twitter profile location to Holladay, Utah.
