President Trump’s 2018 is Kicking Off With a College Football Game

President Trump will attend the college football national championship game between #3 Georgia and #4 Alabama in Atlanta on Monday.

The last time an administration official attended a football game, it sparked a lot of headlines. Vice President Mike Pence visited a game between his home-state Indianapolis Colts and the San Francisco 49ers in October, only to leave early because players kneeled for the national anthem.

On the subject of protests, the NAACP is asking people attending Monday night’s game to protest President Trump by wearing white.

ESPN, which will air the title game, shared the Associated Press‘ write-up on Monday morning:

The NAACP is urging people to hold anti-Trump signs and wear white to mock the “snowflake” label Trump’s supporters use to describe their opponents. Another group, Refuse Fascism ATL, says they’ll “take a knee against Trump” outside CNN’s world headquarters near the stadium before kickoff in the game between Alabama and Georgia.

According to SBNation, Trump’s planned visit to the title game will be the first time a sitting president visits a college football game that is not Army vs. Navy since President Clinton visited an Arkansas vs. Louisiana Tech game in home-state Little Rock, Arkansas in 1997.

Want a ticket to see the president and the game? You better have $3,000. Pairs of tickets to the game start at $1,435 each on StubHub, as of Monday morning.
