Billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer has been barnstorming across the country, hosting dozens of town halls as part of his impeachment campaign against President Trump. Steyer is currently in Iowa, causing speculation that he may be plotting a 2020 presidential run.

The pro-energy group Power The Future will not allow Steyer’s shadow presidential campaign to go unchallenged, according to Daniel Turner, the group’s executive director.

Power The Future plans to spend tens of thousands of dollars geotargeting Steyer’s town halls with an ad that mimics Steyer’s “Need to Impeach” ad.

The ad, which is titled “Join Us,” features Turner highlighting how Steyer’s environmental policies have killed energy jobs across America, something that the group also highlights on its recently released website called “Steyerville.”

“He’s launching a presidential campaign with no opposition,” Turner told NTK Network. “Power The Future isn’t going to allow that to happen. We’re going to spend tens of thousands of dollars geotargeting every one of these town halls so that people know how dangerous Steyer’s energy policies are to hardworking Americans.”

Steyer has taken notice of Turner’s efforts and has blocked Turner on Twitter.
