A group of protestors were arrested by the United States Capitol Police for attempting to occupy Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) Senate office in protest of the ongoing government shutdown on Wednesday.

“The USCP is responding to demonstration activity in the hallway near Room SR-317 of the Russell Senate Office Building. All other personnel are directed to avoid the area until further notice. (This is McConnell’s office),” Fox News’ Chad Pergram tweeted.

The protestor chanted, “Stop the shutdown,” “Folks are hurting,” and “Where’s Mitch?” while blocking the entrance to McConnell’s office before police began escorting them out of the Russell Senate office building.
