Q Poll: Biden, Bernie, Beto Lead Crowded Pack of 2020 Democrats

The latest national poll tracking Democrat presidential candidates once again shows former Vice President Joe Biden atop the leaderboard, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

According to Quinnipiac’s survey, Biden earned 29 percent support, followed by Sanders at 19 percent.

But former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) separated himself slightly from the rest of the pack by earning 12 percent support, a slight rise from his usual standing in the single digits.

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) received 8 percent, followed by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-IN) with 4 percent each. Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) each earned 2 percent.

Once again, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) received zero percent.

In what could be a sign of trouble for Biden, Sanders, and Warren, 39 percent of Democrats said they’d prefer a candidate who was younger, all other things being equal. Just 21 percent said they’d prefer an older candidate, while 35 percent said age didn’t matter.

Large majorities said they didn’t care if the Democratic Party’s nominee was male or female (59 percent) or white versus a person of color (69 percent).

The overall results largely mirror those of the Morning Consult poll released on Tuesday.
