Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) called on Sen. Al Franken to resign from the United States Senate during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.

Comstock along with Rep. Jackie Speier (D-CA) testified in front of the House Administration Committee last week about the rampant sexual harassment that exists in Congress.

NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell asked Comstock if she believed the allegations of sexual misconduct against Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore and whether Moore should step aside.

Moore has been accused by over a half dozen women of sexually assaulting them while they were minors.

“Yes, I do,” Comstock said. “And last week I think I was the first woman in the House to come out and say, ‘You should step aside.’ I’ve been consistent on all these matters we’ve talked about.”

Mitchell followed up by asking Comstock about President Trump’s silence when it comes to Moore.

“Well, I appreciate that the president actually was working with the White House and they’ve cut off funding to him. The National [Republican] Senatorial Committee is not funding it. So you’ve seen people across the board – Ted Cruz, Mike Lee – withdraw their support, say he should step aside. I still hope he will do that and do the right thing,” Comstock responded.

“For that matter, Al Franken can go hit the door with [Moore],” Comstock concluded.
