Report: McCaskill Gets $10K for ’18 Bid From Far-Left Warren

Last week, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) threw an elbow at members of her own party, claiming some Democratic senators are “trying to find their base” ahead of 2020 presidential runs.

Most could presume this includes Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), the far-left firebrand who is considered a top contender for Democrats in 2020, should she make a run for the White House.

But while McCaskill is fine criticizing Democrats eyeing 2020, ahead of her own tough re-election campaign in 2018, she apparently has no problem taking campaign cash from the likes of Warren.

Roll Call reported on Monday:

PAC for a Level Playing field, Warren’s leadership PAC, donated to state Democratic parties where Democrats are trying to be competitive, according to the PAC’s quarterly FEC report that was filed on Friday.

…The PAC also gave $5,000 to the state parties and committees where Democrats are defending their seats.

Among them are New Mexico, home of Sen. Martin Heinrich; Sen. Jon Tester in Montana; Pennsylvania, where Sen. Bob Casey will likely run against Rep. Lou Barletta; Missouri, home of Sen. Claire McCaskill, one of the most vulnerable incumbent Democrats; Florida, where Sen. Bill Nelson is running; and Michigan, home of Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

FEC reports confirm two $5,000 contributions to McCaskill, both in March.

That’s a lot of campaign cash, especially for someone who claims to be against big money in politics.
