A political group run by a former Obama administration staffer is running ads, with the backing of Enron billionaire John Arnold, in support of Rep. David McKinley (R-WV), according to The Washington Examiner.

Patients for Affordable Drugs Action, run by Obama official Ben Wakana, is spending six-figures in support McKinley’s reelection bid:

This week it will announce a six-figure TV ad buy to support Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va.

Wakana said that the group would announce more races it will get involved in as the midterms approach. He said that the group will take into account a variety of factors when endorsing or opposing a candidate, including the amount of money a candidate gets from the pharmaceutical lobby.

Arnold’s group is also trying to save Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) from disaster in New Jersey, pushing attack ads against his opponent.

According to a piece in RedState, the Enron billionaire has jacked up anti-pharmaceutical spending in recent years, and with the exception of McKinley, he’s trying to help Democrats retake Congress. Does McKinley want support from that effort?
