RNC Rakes in $14.6M in May, $76M for the Year So Far

The monthly total does not reflect the massive haul the Trump campaign raised in partnership with the RNC during his re-election launch this week.

The Republican National Committee reported raising $14.6 million in the month of May. The committee had $37 million on hand at the beginning of the month, per FEC filings.

The RNC’s monthly total is a record for a May in a non-presidential year.

May’s monthly total brings the RNC’s year-to-date total up to a whopping $76 million, according to Politico.

“Another record-breaking fundraising month allows the RNC to continue to invest in our world-class, permanent, data-driven field program,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

The numbers do not reflect the gigantic haul reported by the Trump campaign this week in partnership with the RNC. The president officially launched his re-election campaign on Tuesday in Orlando, and the campaign reported raising nearly $25 million in about a 24-hour period.

Earlier this week, the committee announced that President Donald Trump raised$24.8 million in less than 24 hours after officially launching his reelection campaign — a huge amount of money that dwarfed the first-day totals of the Democrats competing in the primary. Former Vice President Joe Biden, who raised the next-highest total after his first day of fundraising, pulled in $6.3 million.

Trump’s one-day haul was “more than any Democratic presidential candidate raised in the entire first quarter of 2019,” according to the New York Times.

The RNC once again outpaced the Democratic National Committee, it’s left-wing rival. The DNC raised just $6.9 million and reported having $8.3 million on hand.
