Romney: I’m Not Running for President in 2020

"I've acknowledged that the president was successful, and I was not. He did something I couldn't do – he won."

Sen.-elect Mitt Romney (R-UT) said that he is not running for the Republican Party’s nomination for president in 2020 against President Donald Trump during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday.

Tapper asked Romney whether he would run for president in 2020 after writing an op-ed in the Washington Post on Tuesday that blasted Trump.

“No, you may have heard that I ran before?” Romney joked. “I’ve acknowledged that the president was successful, and I was not. He did something I couldn’t do – he won.”

“But, no I’m not running again, and we’ll see if somebody else does in a Republican primary or not, but time will tell,” Romney added.
