Ruth Bader Ginsburg Is Missing Arguments for the First Time in 25 Years

The oldest serving Supreme Court justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, is missing arguments for the first time in 25 years while she recovers from surgery she had last month to treat cancerous growths in her lungs.

Doctors discovered growths on Ginsburg’s lungs while she was in the hospital being treated for fractured ribs that she suffered after falling at her office in November.

Ginsburg as discharged from a New York City hospital on Christmas Day after doctors successfully removed the growths on the 85-year-old Ginsburg’s lungs.

According to the Associated Press, a “court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Monday the 85-year-old Ginsburg is continuing to recuperate and work from home after doctors removed two cancerous growths from her left lung on Dec. 21.”

This was the third time that Ginsburg has had cancer surgery. Neither of the previous surgeries caused Ginsburg to miss court sessions.
