The Congressional Leadership Fund, a super PAC with the backing of House Speaker Paul Ryan and Republican leadership, raised a whopping $15 million in the first three months of the year.

The massive haul marks a record for the organization, and it totals more than 10 times the amount the group raised during the same period last year, $1.3 million. The group reported $25 million in the bank at the start of April.

That money will come in handy down the stretch when the group, one of the main GOP television advertisers, begins purchasing ad time in the run up to the November elections.

“Knowing this will be a challenging midterm environment, aggressive and early fundraising has put CLF in a strong position to defend the Republican majority,” the fund’s executive director, Corry Bliss, said in a statement. “Donors are investing heavily in CLF’s field program, which will continue to expand nationwide.”

Republicans currently hold a 23-seat advantage in the House of Representatives. Redrawn districts in several states, paired with an unpopular president and a natural anti-establishment mood during a midterm election could all pose serious challenges for Republicans in the fall. This week’s announcement will go a long way in helping the GOP maintain its control of Congress.
