Sanders Has to Yet Again Apologize for Sexual Harassment on His 2016 Campaign

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was forced once again to apologize for the rampant sexual misconduct and harassment that female staffers experienced while working on his 2016 presidential campaign.

Politico reported on Thursday that Sanders’ deputy national field director forcibly kissed and made lewd remarks to a young female staffer at the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

This report comes just a week after the New York Times published a piece that highlighted how many women on the Sanders 2016 campaign experienced sexual misconduct and harassment.

Following the New York Times story, Sanders told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that he was “a little bit busy running around the country” to be aware of the allegations. This response drew criticism from both Republicans and Democrats.

Now Sanders is singing a different tune, saying the misconduct by his former deputy national field director “was absolutely unacceptable and certainly not what a progressive campaign or any campaign should be about,” according to the Associated Press.

Still, Sanders claims that he was also unaware of the alleged behavior.
