On Wednesday, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders was elected to the Democratic leadership in the Senate as head of outreach.
MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell got the chance on Thursday to ask Sanders what this role entailed.
“My job is to mobilize millions of people of working people who want to see a government that works for all of us and not just the 1 percent,” Sanders said.
Ironically Mitchell caught Sanders outside the St. Regis, a luxury hotel in Washington, D.C. where rooms tend to cost more than $600 per night.
It’s unclear if Sanders is staying at the St. Regis.
