Schiff’s ‘Non-Partisan’ Event Full of Impeachment Hopes, Trump Despair

The DC establishment is begging Congress to remove President Trump.

Four out of six questions from the audience expressed despair over President Trump or requested impeachment at a “completely non-partisan” Council on Foreign Relations event with Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) in Washington, D.C. on Friday.

At the outset of the event, host Andrea Mitchell, an MSNBC anchor, proclaimed the event “completely non-partisan.” After Mitchell questioned Schiff about current events, the forum turned to audience questions.

The first questioner identified herself as “Nina Gardner, Strategy International and activist.” Gardner’s question immediately turned to impeachment.

“What is the strategy as we move forward toward impeachment?” she asked. “Do we have to wait to a new Congress because the GOP has lost its spine?” Gardner told Schiff she expected impeachment to “happen a lot earlier.”

“We cannot survive this anymore,” she concluded.

Gardner apparently teaches international law at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

The next question came from Barbara Slavin of the Atlantic Council. Her inquiry, while less pointed than the previous, still hinted at a desire for impeachment:

[Is Special Counsel Robert Mueller] collecting information that he would not bring to the public until after our November elections for example, waiting to see if the House changes hands, and if there might actually be a more reasonable prospect of impeachment than there is now with Republican control.

Another question came from a Democratic staff member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the lead-up to her question implied that the United States may not make it through the Trump administration. And the final question of the event asked that Mueller publish a report on any possible crimes committed by Trump.

To each question, Schiff offered long, dodgy answers, not committing to impeachment proceedings.

No questions focused on the Nunes memo and allegations of Obama administration FISA warrant abuse.
