Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) is feeling the reelection heat this year, but she’s getting a rescue attempt from allies of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and former President Barack Obama this week.

The Hill reported that Senate Majority PAC, run by a Schumer ally, and Priorities USA Action, which was formed years ago to help Obama win elections, will spend $950,000 on digital ads attacking McCaskill’s Republican opponent, Attorney General Josh Hawley (R-MO).

The Senate Majority PAC and Priorities USA Action, two groups associated with the Democratic Party, are dropping nearly $1 million on a digital ad campaign against Missouri state Attorney General Josh Hawley (R), accusing him of only “fighting for his wealthy donors.”

There’s an irony, of course, in two liberal super PACs, funded by wealthy donors, criticizing a Republican over “wealthy donors.”

But the bigger problem for McCaskill may be her continued ties to Schumer and Obama – hardly popular brands in Missouri, a red state – heading into the toughest reelection fight of her career.
