SCOTUS DAY ONE HIGHLIGHT: Phony Hysteria by Democrats

The Senate Judiciary Committee had the first day of confirmation hearings for President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh on Tuesday and the big take-away from the hearing was Senate Democrats’ phony outrage over Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Senate Democrats started the first day of the hearing by repeatedly interrupting the opening remarks of the chair of the Judiciary Committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) Mid-hearing, however, the Democrats’ efforts were exposed as a coordinated effort to disrupt the hearing.

By the end of the first day of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing, Senate Democrats had interrupted the hearing 73 times.

Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was responsible for orchestrating the Democrat’s efforts, which progressive groups were quick to blast as not sufficient enough.

Senate Democrats weren’t alone in their efforts though, some 70 people were arrested by the U.S. Capitol Police during the first day of hearings.

Despite this mock outrage by Democrats, many of whom are positioning themselves for possible presidential runs in 2020, Republicans look like they have the votes to confirm Kavanaugh in a few weeks.
