Senate Dems Have Interrupted Kavanaugh’s Hearing 63 Times

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee interrupted the confirmation hearing for President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh 63 times during the first half of the first day of Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing.

NBC News reported that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) led a phone call on Monday with Senate Democrats, designed to derail Tuesday’s hearing.

Democrats began their orchestrated protest almost immediately, with 2020 hopeful Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) stating her objection to the confirmation hearing.

The hearing started at 9:30 a.m. ET and broke for lunch around 12:45 p.m. ET.

During that time, Senate Democrats interrupted the hearing 63 times, according to a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee (RNC).

By the RNC’s count, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) had the most interruptions with 21, followed by 2020 hopeful Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) with 14.
