Late night comedian Seth Meyers blasted House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for her “shockingly tone-deaf,” comments regarding accusations of sexual harassment against Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) during an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

During an interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd on Sunday, Pelosi dodged when asked if she believed the women who had accused Conyers of sexual harassment and called the embattled congressman an “icon.”

“For example, yesterday House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi was asked about Michigan Congressman John Conyers, who secretly settled sexual harassment allegations by a former employee, and her answer was shockingly tone-deaf,” Meyers said.

Meyers then played a clip from the interview where Pelosi said, “[Conyers] will do the right thing in terms of what he knows about his situation.”

“No,” a clearly disgusted Meyers said after the clip played. “He’s in this position because he allegedly did the wrong thing. You can’t say the guy who did that wrong thing will do the right thing.”

Meyers then attacked Pelosi for calling Conyers an icon.

“‘I am an icon’ is like a sexual harasser’s catch phrase. ‘Hey, I know that you haven’t consented to any of this, but I am an icon,'” Meyers said, while pictures of Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, Kevin Spacey, Louis C.K., Charlie Rose, and Bill O’Reilly appeared on the screen.
