Failed Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams addressed rumors that former Vice President Joe Biden is considering her as a possible 2020 running mate, telling ABC’s “The View” on Wednesday that “you don’t run for second place.”

Co-host Joy Behar asked Abrams what she thought about the rumors that Biden is considering her as a running mate to bolster his numbers in the crowded Democratic primary.

“I think you don’t run for second place,” Abrams said. “If I’m going to enter a primary, then I’m going to enter a primary, and if I don’t enter the primary, my job is to make certain that the best Democrat becomes the nominee.”

Behar followed up by asking Abrams if she was open to an Abrams/Biden ticket.

“I am open to a number of options right now,” Abrams said. “I’ve got plenty of time on my hands.

Behar asked Abrams whether she was running for president in 2020.

“I do not know if I am running. I’m thinking about everything,” Abrams responded, adding that she is considering a number of options, including running for Senate in Georgia in 2020.

Abrams clarified that she was not opposed to becoming Biden’s running mate, but only after the Democratic presidential primary has concluded.
