There’s a New 2020 Dem Poll Out … and Hillary Clinton Does Pretty Well

A new poll on the 2020 Democratic presidential primary is out, and nearly one in five Democrats wants Hillary Clinton to again bear the torch for their party in the next presidential election.

USA Today reported that Clinton came in just behind ex-VP Joe Biden in the latest poll, for what’s expected to be a hotly-contested match-up:

Biden was the choice of 32 percent of Democrats in a Harvard CAPS/Harris June poll that was obtained by The Hill. The party’s 2016 standard bearer, Hillary Clinton, came in second with 18 percent and Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., was third with 16 percent.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., was fourth with 10 percent of the vote.

This week, President Trump indicated on Twitter that he’d like to face Clinton again in 2020.

Another problem for the Democratic Party? Those top four choices would all be in their 70s on Inauguration Day 2021: Biden would be 78, Clinton would be 73, Sanders would be 79, and Warren would be 71.

One has to go down to fifth place to find a young Democrat: Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), who will be 51 on Inauguration Day 2021. Michael Bloomberg, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), and Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) followed, with smaller portions of the vote.
