Top NV Political Analyst: Rosen’s Comments on Her Vegas Shooting Role ‘Disturbing’

On Monday, The Nevada Independent obtained exclusive audio of Rep. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) highlighting at a recent fundraiser that she was out “in front” after 2017’s Las Vegas shooting.

Rosen is a candidate for U.S. Senate, running for the upper chamber after less than two years in the U.S. House.

But Rosen could be in hot water with voters in discussing her role in such a way, especially since the tragedy left dozens dead.

Rosen told attendees of the fundraiser, which was hosted by several prominent members of the region’s Jewish community, that she “channelled [her] inner rabbi” while visiting hospital rooms and attending funerals in the wake of the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history by thinking about what he would say in those situations, according to a recording of the event obtained by The Nevada Independent. The Democratic congresswoman said that while other politicians asked “What do we do?” she was out “in front” and “just did that because [she] knew.”

At best, Rosen was indelicate in discussing one of the worst days in Nevada history. At worst, she was bragging about her role after a tragic shooting.

To that end, top Nevada political analyst Jon Ralston blasted Rosen’s comments on the same site that broke the news, The Nevada Independent.

So when I first saw the video of her at a Seattle fundraiser bragging about her role on arguably the worst day in Nevada history and making it seem as if she was The Iron Lady among the feckless, I was stunned. And it takes a lot to do that.

…My view is that this is not just problematic politically for Rosen. I’d go so far as to say the video is disturbing. Watch it a few times, as I did.

Ralston is more astute than most when it comes to Nevada politics. If he says Rosen is in political hot water over this disclosure, chances are she is.
