The former host of MSNBC’s “The Cycle,” Touré referred to Martin Luther King, Jr.’s nephew, Isaac Newton Farris, Jr., as an “Uncle Tom” during an interview on Friday for standing next to President Trump last week.

Farris Jr. participated at a White House event with President Trump last Friday to honor his uncle ahead of the Martin Luther King holiday.

“You know what was hard? Was listening to Trump quote King,” Touré told the hosts of the radio show “Breakfast Club” on Friday. “To hear King’s words coming out of [Trump’s] mouth really made my stomach turn.”

“To see King’s nephew standing beside him, kowtowing and Uncle Tom-ing like that, it was disgusting,” Touré added.

“Uncle Tom,” is a derogatory used in the African American community to refer to “a black person, especially a man, considered by other black people to be subservient to or to curry favor with white people.”
