Trump Cancels Kim Meeting, Threatens North Korea With Nuclear Arsenal

In a letter to North Korea’s Kim Jong-un on Thursday, President Trump informed the North Korean leader that he will not partake in the previously-scheduled June 12 meeting between the two leaders in Singapore.

“Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting,” Trump wrote.

The letter included a thinly-veiled threat to the North Korean leader, citing the power of the U.S. nuclear arsenal.

“You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used,” the president told Kim.

Trump was reportedly livid at North Korean insults hurled at Vice President Mike Pence, prompting him to cancel the meeting.
