Rep. Martha McSally (R-AZ) defeated primary opponents State Sen. Kelli Ward and pardoned convict Joe Arpaio in Arizona’s Republican Senate primary on Tuesday, earning praise from President Trump.

With 60 percent of the vote counted, McSally enjoys a 24-point lead over her next closest opponent, Ward.

McSally, the first woman to fly in combat in the U.S. military, will face Rep. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) in November. McSally is largely seen as the GOP’s best chance at retaining Sen. Jeff Flake’s (R-AZ) seat.

Trump offered his full endorsement on Wednesday morning, calling her “an extraordinary woman” and praising her work on conservative issues.

The president also took a shot at Flake, who has been a constant critic of Trump’s administration.
