In a visit to North Carolina on Friday, President Trump will issue an executive order that eases the process for businesses to offer retirement plans, according to CBS News.

The order will help businesses join together to offer retirement programs like 401(k)s as an association, rather than struggle to provide them separately:

The White House says Trump will direct the Labor and Treasury departments to issue regulations to help businesses join together to offer Association Retirement Plans. Administration officials say high costs discourage employers from offering plans like 401(k)s at a time when surveys show workers worry about being able to live comfortably in retirement.

Trump devoted his candidacy to representing the “forgotten men and women” of the United States, and this order could move his administration’s agenda forward.

Aiding workers worried about retirement may help the president shore up his voting base prior to the 2018 midterms.
