The president warned that other partisan actors could also see their security clearances pulled away.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced at a press briefing on Wednesday that President Trump revoked the security clearance of ex-CIA Director John Brennan.

The White House cited falsehoods that Brennan told Congressional committees while under oath, and Sanders argued that Brennan’s use of access to classified information enabled his “erratic” behavior.

“Any benefits that senior officials might glean from consultations with Mr. Brennan are now outweighed by the risks posed by his erratic conduct and behavior,” Sanders read from a statement.

Sanders added that the president would evaluate the continuing access to security clearances of the following former officials:

  • Director of National Intelligence James Clapper
  • FBI Director James Comey
  • CIA Director Michael Hayden
  • Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates
  • National Security Adviser Susan Rice
  • Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe
  • FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok
  • FBI lawyer Lisa Page
  • DOJ official Bruce Ohr

The White House previously warned that they would pull security clearances of various former officials. It appears they’re more than willing to make good on that threat.
