Trump’s Economy Smashes 3% Mark for Fastest Growth Quarter in 3 Years

Trump’s Economy Smashes 3% Mark for Fastest Growth Quarter in 3 Years

The U.S. economy grew by 3.3 percent in the third quarter of 2017, according to economic reports. It’s the second quarter in a row of the economy hitting the 3 percent mark, with the third quarter being the faster of the two.

This is the fastest the U.S. economy has grown in two consecutive quarters in three years, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The BEA had originally estimated that the U.S. economy grew at a rate of 3 percent, before adding the three-tenths of a percent to a quarter ravaged by hurricanes:

“Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased at an annual rate of 3.0 percent in the third quarter of 2017,” the BEA reported. “In the second quarter, real GDP increased 3.1 percent.”

It’s the first time the economy has grown at this rate in two consecutive quarters since 2014, when the economy grew at more than four percent in quarters two and three of 2014.

President Trump celebrated the news on Twitter, saying that growth would have reached almost 4 percent if it had not been for massive hurricanes rocking the United States:
