President Donald Trump will officially kick off his reelection campaign next month, according to a new report from Axios’ Mike Allen. Sources said the announcement is likely to take place on the four-year anniversary of the launch of Trump’s first presidential campaign in 2015.

That date, June 16, falls on Father’s Day this year, however, “so look for events around that date, not necessarily on it,” Allen wrote.

Per Axios, Trump’s messaging is likely to focus closely on the divisions within the massive Democratic field:

Trump’s personal campaign approach is aimed at sowing further division in the huge Democratic field, and trying to dominate the news so the national discussion hovers on his turf.

Watch for Trump and his campaign to try to sap attention from Democratic debates with their own counter-programming.

To date, Trump has been actively criticizing Democrats on Twitter and even calling into Fox News to do so from time to time. And he has held rallies in battleground states, like the one he’s expected to attend in Montoursville, Pennsylvania – just outside of Williamsport – on Monday night.

Expect the president to pick up the pace on the number and frequency of those campaign style events next month.
