CNN Chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border ahead of President Trump’s visit to McAllen, Texas on Thursday. The reporter shot a brief, half-a-minute video in which he says there’s no “national emergency” at the border and that in his judgement, it’s “pretty tranquil” there.

Acosta is well known for his bombastic reporting style, frequently shouting questions at the president and White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Acosta’s frequent outbursts and attention-drawing style has not exactly gained him a lot of friends among his colleagues. In fact, a few were quick to hop on Twitter and slam the CNN reporter’s “glib” video as nothing more than a stunt “customized for re-tweets.”

The main problem with Acosta’s video? Despite the fact that his video was created to do the opposite, Acosta appeared to be demonstrating Trump’s theory that walls work.

Acosta’s self-own was so bad that even elected officials were piling on. Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) retweeted Acosta’s video with the caption: “Brilliant reporting from CNN’s @Acosta —walls work! Thank you Jim!”
